Twinity revisited

Twinity is a metaverse client, comparable with Second Life, though not as widely used. However, since the genesis of Twinity I signed up for a free account, but I didn’t visit it too often. Besides: after my initial enthusiasm for the Metaverse, I began to lose interest in it, even in Second Life, that performed much better than Twinity.

Earlier this year the guys from Linden Labs had the great idea to offer every citizen of Second Life a house. That was a good thing, and for me it meant that I visited the grid another two or three times to choose my house and to be there just err.. to be there. After all: I still don’t know what I should do there. One day I’ll learn what I’ve missed all those years, but now I prefer to use my computer to realize my ideas in the Real World.

Today Twinity came with the same offer: a free house, on one condition: I had to follow the welcome tour!

It bears repeating for anyone who may have missed the news – once you’ve completed the welcome tour in Twinity you are rewarded with your own 4 walls for free, no matter how long ago you joined and did the tour!

No problem. After bringing my two-years old Twinity-client up-to-date, I followed the tour, and chose my apartment, in Berlin.

Okay, now I have a place to log in. And a place to log out, which I did after taking the screenshot. 🙂
